I got back to the game, YAY! Turns out a lot of the people on my course plays the game, so I re-installed the game. Downloaded about 1800000GB of patches, renewed my account and payed the £15 to switch realms. But I gotta admit, it’s so worth it.
I loved the game the first time round, and playing it with RL friends is just amazing.
Anyway, I gotta go.

Just been reading this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-11522593. Turns out that University’s will soon be able to charge an unlimited fee for degree courses… That means sometimes even £21k+ for a degree course. I come from a poor income family, so I’m pretty much screwed now. Yay!

Well, to be honest. Not a lot! I’ve had quite a large college workload, but I gotta admit. I’m loving the place!
Turns out I have to do two years of Maths, seeming the first year is a “Foundation” course, and the second will be a higher, allowing me to get a grade A.
Ahh well, at the end of the day it’s only a means to an end. If two years of enduring my lecturer’s horribly squeaky voice and extremely annoying, condescending attitude get’s me one step closer to working at Google then so be it!
Anyway, a recent project of mine has been what I call my ‘DevShed’. I do a lot of work on my Linux machine, mainly it’s just stupid project ideas that pop into my head, then I sit down and get to work on it. I wanted a place that I could see all of this work, download all of this work and take it everywhere with me. Hence, my ‘DevShed’.
Well, the DevShed will be coded in PHP and hosted on my Linux machine, that way I can access it from wherever, using a NoIP, so I don’t have to remember and type mine out all the time 
My idea for this DevShed is that it lists my htdocs folder, .tar.gz’s my sub folders and allows me to download them on request. I’m hoping to incorporate a built-in code editor on the DevShed as well, hopefully using the former Mozilla Bespin (now SkyWriter, but I prefer the name Bespin… Star wars FTW) project. This will allow me to edit files on the fly.
This project will of course be all open source, I’m hoping to make it completely out of Object Orientated PHP, that means I need to brush up on my prepared statements, but it’s all good.
Just a quick update on the job I was going for, not sure if I told you are not.
Anyway, I was ‘confronted’ by a company that I done my work experience for, they are a local Web Design company called Slightly Different, they offered me a temporary work placement for me to fit in around my college time. I was extremely interested(damn right, I love the place!) and I even went down for an interview. I sent them the time I would be able to work on it, like asked. But unfortunately they didn’t have a large enough work load, and thus had no need for me. It’s a shame, but I can live with it.
Anyway, I best get back to this DevShed, so I’m gonna leave here… Has anyone seen that new film ‘The Social Network’? I checked it out this evening, and oh my gosh it was AMAZING.

Ok, so… I got accepted into a local College to study Software development, it’s a national diploma, so I leave with 3 A Levels in the subject. Then I can go straight on to a University (Cardiff University, hopefully) and study my Computer Science Degree… Which I can then move onto a Masters, then a PhD… HELLO GOOGLE! (Yes, I intend to work for Google!)
OK, so this all sounds like GREAT news yeah? Wrong… Ok so it is good news, but I also applied to study Medieval History because I just love the subject, but I couldn’t get into it because my Maths wasn’t good enough if I want to get into Cardiff University in two years… So I have to get my Maths grade up, and that happens to be in the same slot as the History. So, that means if I can increase my grade to an A in the first year, I can do one year of History afterwards. Although, if it ended up like that I would probably just pick a different subject for the last year, and spend my second year doing a different course. Who knows? Perhaps I could do a Math A Level once I get my GCSE grade up?
I don’t want to post my GCSE grades here, as I think I let myself down… But at least I got enough to get into my desired courses (well at least one of them) so… Yeah.
Now, I am heading for Three Distinctions to get into Cardiff… I can’t wait, I hope I make it…

Recently, I started playing Runescape again. Not 100% sure why, it just hit me as the right thing to do.
I got my member subscription the very same day and haven’t gone a day without it since. Granted, that was three days ago… But still.
I started training my Woodcutting, and after a while I got extremely bored. Then I came (back) across RSBot. Funny story with them is that Jagex attempted to stop the botting, by buying out the previous domain name. The only thing they succeeded in doing was giving more money to the botting community, as they just went and bought a new domain and new things with the money Jagex literally handed straight to them.
Anyway, yeah back to the botting. I stared botting my Woodcutting (up to 68 now) and I thought “Hey, this is neat. I wonder what else I can do”. So I started planking it, then selling it at a huge profit. Made millions (right now I have around 11k oak planks ready to sell). There was a built-in planking script that came with RSBot, but it was so outdated I decided to make my own.
I average around 1k planks an hour with this method, and it isn’t even the balloon method. I’m thinking of releasing it either free or paid to the RSBot marketplace, not sure yet.
Anyway yeah, I think the main reason I started playing Runescape again is the fact that I left School. When I was at School you was teased if you even mentioned the game, even though 90% of the people that done the teasing probably played it.
Either way, now that I’m out of School I just feel free to play whatever the hell I want to play, whenever the hell I feel like playing it.
Although, when I get to college it will be a different matter, it will most probably be time constraints that will stop me from playing the game.
Ahh well, all you can do is hope.

Ok, it’s been a long time since I updated this blog… May 22, 2009 was the last time I updated it!
Well, I’m back, and this time I have a lot more in store for you than before. I’ll have an awful lot more interesting things to blog about, as I have just got accepted into college(more on that later) to study Software Development, which I can’t wait for!
Yes, I still use linux (posting from the app I talked about in my first ever blog post all those years ago!) and I love it now more than ever, I’m using the new-ish 10.0.4 Ubuntu Linux distro. My one ‘niggle’ with Linux is that I can’t seem to get things done, mainly because I keep shaking windows about and spinning around in a cube!
As for why I want to blog? Who knows? Why does anyone want to blog? Mainly it’s for things that I find interesting, I will tell you about
Now, as for this URL being at wordpress.com. I’m thinking of either getting my own URL and keeping the blog here, or just transferring over to my server that I have with Site5.
I’m not sure yet, there are a lot of things I have to do before I can get this place ‘ready’.
Well, I hope this post to be the first of many in the upcoming weeks/months/years.
